Initially I was not looking forward to this camp at all. Actually I thought it would be a complete waste of my time. Upon reaching the camp, the trainers made us sit down in the mid day sun and briefed us on our activities. Okay, so it was not really a good impression of the camp, with its pungent smelling toilets and its small mess hall. Things would get better, I thought. We were soon introduced to our trainers Tarzan and Jane and we started our first activity soon after.
We got started on our first activity, which was to help pitch up tents for the whole level. The first activity instantly taught us on how important teamwork was in pitching tents. The first day went past in a flash and it really made us tired. After a warm cup of milo, I instantly fell asleep in our hot tent. The second day was more fun and exciting than the first. The highlight of the second day would be the Nature Ramble, where we got dirty and muddy from trenching around in the mud.
Truly, the highlight of both days was the campfire, where we sang songs and cheered for our group, Chil. The moment I woke up, a feeling of great sadness filled me as I realized that we were leaving the camp today. As I travelled back to school in the bus, I reflected on how this camp taught me both teamwork and courage.I hope to go to more of these fun and educational camps and I sure would miss Camp Cristine. I had indeed bonded with my classmates and was looking forward to working with them in my schooling days.
